On 26 March PJMA sponsored it first Battle of the Bands Grand Finals. The event marked the conclusion of a year long series of Battle of the Bands for 2004. The date was originally scheduled for January, however a snow storm caused the event to be rescheduled to March and relocated to My Brother's Place in Waldorf.

Over the year we had many good band compete for this new prize title. Some bands such as Level 8 and Second Sunrise experienced loss of members or reorganization and therefore were not able to compete in the final rounds. These bands were replace by other competing bands from the same season.

Congratulation to the 4 bands were able to compete in the grand finals. Below is the standings of all the bands for the year and special acknowledgement for the band who place in the top 4.

Based on the audience the band attracted to the event, how the audience at the event voted for the bands, and scoring by the judges from Decided Records and DC-101 the winners for 2004 are as follows:
