| 1. Bands are to book only one slot in a season
unless there is openings less than 30 days before the event..
2. Bands are to book with music themes compatible with their
style of music.
3. The bands score is half determined by the audience and half by
the judges. The first 25 points is based on the advance ticket
sale by the band. Sale of 30 tickets get the full 25 points,
otherwise the points are ratioed to the tickets sold. The next
25 points is based on the audience vote. If a band were to get
all the audience vote they would get 25 points. If there were
an equal split of votes to all the bands then each band would get
6.25 points. Other amounts will be calculated appropriately. The
judges score the bands for talent, music appeal and stage presence.
Talent is how well the music in played. Music appeal is how
original and creative is the music. Stage presence evaluate how
interesting the band act and entertains the audience from the stage.
The judges use a score ranging from low of 1 to high of 10. The
average of the judges score will be determined for each area for each
band. These averages will be proportioned to 1/3 of 50 point (i.e.
6.2 average score, then 6.2/10*1/3*50=16.666 points)
4. For the Battle of the Bands preliminary rounds PJMA
will each competting band recruit a judge
from the concert's audience.
For the Battle of the Bands Finals PJMA will recruit judges from local
recording studios. For the Battle of the Bands Grand Finals will
recruit judges from recording studios, record labels and
professionals in the music industry
5. In the event that a first place band is unable to playing the next level of competition, then
one of other available competing bands from the prior
level will be invited to replace them in the competition.
6. PJMA may make exceptions to the above guidelines when
necessary to allow the event to be successful, this include but not
limited to replacement bands for band cancellation or band no
show, alternative judging when there are no judges, and accommodating
event cancellation or rescheduling. |
