The "coffee house" has been a haven and
breeding ground for songwriters and performers throughout the history of
contemporary music. It's one of the best environments to get your material
heard & worked out. Here in St. Mary's county we are blessed with several
of these havens. PJMA has arranged with some of these havens, the opportunities
for musicians to perform.
The desired types of music styles
include acoustic guitars/vocals, folk, blue grass, blues, jazz, gospel, and
celtic. These venues are small, so keep your groups small, soft and warm.
Your audience are all ages and families. So the music, dress and lyric
must be appropriate to the audience.
Like many of our events there is no money in
this cooperative effort. The musicians, PJMA or the coffee houses are not
getting any money directly out of this. There is no door fee or charge to for
the audience to attend the performance. Groups may put out a tip container. PJMA will have a donation container. The coffee houses hopes your
audience will
purchase some drink and food.

you would like to play on a date other than listed please ask for that date, we
will get back to you if that date can be accommodated.
The live performance Coffee House Concerts are held in
Southern Maryland every Friday. At least one Friday, per month is hosted by PJMA ( we
will provide a sound system and sound tec). Friday's listed Host: open or
with a band's as host will either use the band's sound system/Tec or use the
house Sound System.
